EXPLORE TWO FASCINATING CITIES AND THE FAMOUS IGUASSU FALLS IN BRAZIL

Come to South America and explore Brazil with us on a journey through its beautiful interior.
Our hosts will be waiting for us in Brasilia , where they will show us the architectural marvels and sightseeing points of this urban planned city.
Next, we will fly to Rio de Janeiro for another week of homestay with our hosts in this marvelous city. There are plenty to see, and our hosts are planning to take us to visit the statue of Christ the Redeemer, the Sugar Loaf, Corcovado, the world famous beach of Copacabana and a trip outside Rio to Teresopolis.
The last part of our journey is an optional tour to Iguassu Falls on August 25th.
You will be responsible for your travel plans to Brasilia on August 13th and return to the States from Rio on August 25th. Or return from Rio on August 28th for those who go on tour to Iguassu.
Any traveler’s report on Brazil always starts and ends with the people, warm and welcoming. The Brazilian get together are the best. A place of wonderful music, wonderful dance and wonderful food; all with the unique style and special flavor of Brazil. Hope you can join us!

NEW - PRACTICE YOUR SPANISH OVER A CUP OF COFFEE IN COLOMBIA

Our friendly hosts will meet us at the airport in Bogotá upon our arrival on Saturday, September 14. On Monday, we’ll start our five days of morning Spanish classes and International House. Our goals will be to learn about the country and culture and for each of us to improve our Spanish language skills.
In the afternoons, we’ll visit museums and other cultural and historical sites. We’ll experience the country’s pre-Colombian heritage, multicultural society, environmental issues and folklore.
After the home stay ends, we will depart for a tour of the Quindío coffee region. We’ll learn the whole process of coffee growing and production, from seed to cup!
We will also visit the Botanical Gardens and Butterfly Quindío, a place for nature lovers to appreciate the colors, the sounds, the textures and smells of a forest of 600 species of plants and trees.

JOIN THE CELEBRATION OF SEÑOR DE LOS MILAGROS IN PERU
Peru

HIGHLIGHTS
- Week 1: Homestay in La Libertad, Peru
- Week 2: Explore Lima and Lord of Miracles Celebration, fly to the Andes and add a visadome train ride to Machu Picchu
- Week 3: Fly into the Amazon Basin rainforest for 3 nights followed by a coastal visit to Ballestas Islands
Peru has an interesting history any many monumental archeology sites. With our hosts we will visit a couple sites listed on the World Heritage List: Chan Chan was the capital of the Chimu Kingdom until the 17th century and the Museum of Huascas de Moche built by the Moche people. We will likely see the spectacle of the Peruvian horses and dancers. Huanchaco is a nearby town and beach where fishing boats made of reed are commonly used for surfing. The Longboard World Championship was held here a couple years ago. Peru crafts include pottery, sculpture, Retablos, and clothes made from alpaca wool. Peruvian cuisine is known around the world. They have 3800 varieties of potatoes! They use many herbs when cooking. Peru’s National Drink is the Pisco Sour. AND when the Peru ambassadors visited our chapter, we noticed that they are a fun loving group. It promises to be a memorable exchange. Come join us.

NEW - EXPERIENCE LIFE IN THE AMAZON RIVER BASIN
Amazon Region, Brazil
October 27 to November 8, 2013
HIGHLIGHTS
- Observing the “ meeting of the waters”
- Fishing for piranhas, caiman and dolphin spotting, wildlife and bird watching in a remote jungle lodge
- Swimming in clear waters of the jungle’s most beautiful beach at Alter do Chão
- Learning about life in Belém, the Amazon Metropolis.
- Boat riding by the shore of Belem in the evening with music and regional dances
Come explore the mysterious Amazon River basin as we travel to three distinct areas of this massive region. Boats and vans will be our transportation as we travel to our rustic jungle lodge three hours from Manaus. The “Meeting of the Waters” will be our first amazing sight as the Amazon and Negro Rivers run side by side in two distinctive colors for miles. Our days at the jungle lodge will be filled with outdoor activities such as trekking through the jungle to see monkeys, sloths and toucans, learning about medicinal plants from our expert guides and canoeing in the rivers.
We will spend another night in Manaus before flying to our second regional destination, the native fishing village of Alter do Chão, which offers the most beautiful beach in Amazonia. Relax on the sandy beaches or join some local sightseeing tours – decision is yours. Before flying on to Belem at the mouth of the Amazon, a city tour of Santarém will be offered to visit the local markets, churches, shops and museums.
Our hosts will be waiting for us at our final destination in Belém, where we will discover the city’s highlights such as the Basilica, “Ver-O-Peso” fish/veggie market and museums. Included in the planned activities are a visit to botanical gardens, shoreline boat rides and a full day on beautiful Mosqueiro island.
The total price for the exchange is $2,960 and it includes FFI fees, host fees and Round trip international air from Miami - Manaus. The price without the international air is $2,250
