v      About the club: Our club was chartered in December of 1986. We have approximately 120 members including families and single people.  We like to welcome one incoming exchange each year and send one outgoing exchange. The Taichung club, placed in the middle of Taiwan, refers to eight counties that surround the TaichungHarbor.  Most of the members of our club are very young.  They live in TaichungCity and Taichung county.

v      About the region: Taichung offers a great variety of activities and many places of interest for our visitors.  Things special to Taiwan are the NineAboriginalPeopleCulturalVillage and the NationalScienceMuseum.  The Taichung harbor has an interesting fish market.  IronMountain is a Taiwanese hero memorial.  When visiting Taichung, guests can see the city's night market, Sun-MoonLake, seeing a golf factory, browsing and enjoying Chinese food. The climate of Taichung,  in the warm weather months (June, July and August) ranges from 24 to 33 C (75 to 91 F).  In the cooler three months (December through February), it ranges from 12 to 20 C (54 to 68 F). In the warm months (March, April, May, September, October and November) the temperature ranges from 20 to 25C (68 to 77 F).

v      About the exchanges: After arriving at TaipeiInternationalAirport where they are met with club members holding a large banner, Ambassadors are driven by bus for three hours to Taichung. Here they are met by the Exchange Director and the rest of the hosts.  Each host holds a sign with the Ambassador's name.  We arrange welcome and farewell parties and neighborhood or group dinners to give the Ambassadors an opportunity to meet other people and see other homes. Ambassadors usually ask us to arrange to stay one night at Sun-MoonLake and do sight seeing there.  The NineAboriginalCultureVillage tour can be arranged in advance at an extra cost US$ 80.  This and other additional special programs can be discussed by the Exchange Directors as part of the exchange preparation.
